Muscle Groups: Chest
The incline chest press targets the pectoralis major (pecs).
To start, this is a plate loaded machine, so you can add weights onto the bars on the side of the machine. Once you have added an appropriate weight, adjust your seat so that when seated the handle bars are in line with your upper chest.
Once ready, grasp the handles, shoulders back and feet placed firmly on the ground. Push upwards in a continious, controlled movement, holding at the top then slowly returning back down.
As shown by Ellie Young. A PT at Ascendancy.
The main benefits of using an incline chest press is that it is a great way to build strength in the upper chest muscles. The machine provides resistance, which helps to overload the muscles and force them to adapt and grow.
